EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION GUIDE
General Contractor 1. Coordinate and prioritize final connections with KES installation crew. The focus of the trades should be on kitchen equipment the week of delivery. Electrical Contractor 1. Review McDonald’s “K” and “E” drawings for all items designated for electrical connections. 2.Perform all final connections per local code authority 3. Prior to installing equipment review pre-ground break notes and marked drawings to confirm equipment locations. Plumbing Contractor 1. Measure and verify the correct available gas pressure at each cooking appliance and adjust gas pressure to meet the needs of each cooking appliance. 2.Perform all final connections per local code authority. 3. If the plumbing contractor is unable to check and adjust the gas pressure, it remains their responsibility to contract the company to make the adjustment prior to the FASC start-up and calibration. 4. Prior to installing equipment review pre-ground break notes and marked drawings to confirm equipment locations. KES Fabricated Equipment Responsibilities Kitchen equipment, commonly known as fabrication is those items manufactured by the KES. It has been designed to meet McDonald’s standards under specification to ensure operations continuity in regards to food refrigeration, preparation, cooking, holding and serving. The KES installer is responsible for the final fit and function of all fabricated equipment. The following responsibilities explain what is required for all KES fabricated equipment. Setting equipment in place 1. Set all equipment in the locations shown on the approved “K” sheets. 2. Equipment changes to the specific plan under installation cannot be made without the approval of the ACM. Leveling 1. All equipment, fabricated as well as buyout, must be set level and at the proper height in its operating position. 2. All equipment is to be set in position with the prescribed clearances indicated in the manufacturer’s instructions. 3. If building floor or wall condition is beyond the range of adjustment on the equipment, advise general contractor and McDonald’s ACM. KES Installer Owner Operator 1. Final connections of building electrical, gas and water may not be available on the final day of installation. When this occurs, regional operations personnel are responsible for: • Final inspection of all equipment not checkable by KES installer. • Final inspection of all FASC responsible equipment.
