EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION GUIDE

14.D enstor or KES Shelving – must be fully installed prior to equipment arrival. The Denstor to be delivered the Friday Prior to first shipment on Monday. The GC is to have the area ready for the shelving and coordinate installation with the Denstor or the KES installing crew. If backroom shelving is unable to be installed prior to equipment deliver, the GC or O/O will be responsible to provide a secure area for storage of smallwares and associated components. Once shelving is erected the GC or O/O will be responsible to relocate small wares and associated components to the erected shelving

Unloading & Receiving

KES Installer 1. Supervise the unloading and set up of as much equipment as possible in its permanent location to eliminate double handling and to expedite the installation. 2. Check for major shortages or damage as equipment is being unloaded so that it may be reported and corrected before installation is completed. 3. Small packages, miscellaneous and smaller equipment is to be set in one location, usually the stockroom. 4. Ensure all packing debris and boxes are broken down flat and placed into the dumpster on site. Coordinate with the GC as to which dumpster to use.

The installer is responsible for damages occurring to equipment or building if they are careless during unloading or installation. These damages must be repaired before leaving.

General Contractor 1. Provide an opening in the building (minimum 4 ft.) that will accommodate the receiving of equipment. This may mean the removal of a window, door casing or stair railing, if necessary. 2. Provide a solid surface capable of holding equipment upwards of 1,000 lbs. to ensure safe offloading of equipment. A temporary surface to the rear kitchen door or other point of entry is required if permanent sidewalk or landing is not yet completed. 3. Special sites may require removal of windows, door systems or partition walls. 4. See that they and their sub-contractors do not damage any of the equipment that has been provided by the KES. Claims of damage will be recorded with the ACM. 5. Ensure proper wall backing is provided for all wall mounted equipment; hoods, shelving, menu boards, sinks, filet freezers, etc. Refer to Architectural drawing for detail.

KES Installer

Final Connections: The KES installer will direct the plumbing and electrical contractor to assist them in completion of the following: 1. Unpack and review provided manufacturer’s installation instructions. 2. Prior to installing equipment review pre-ground break notes and marked drawings to confirm equipment locations. 3.Clarify connection points on equipment as required. 4. Final connection of all equipment not specifically assigned to an FASC. The KES installer must check for proper operation of all control devices, switches and valves. This includes all equipment that is not controlled by the interlock system. Example – toasters, portable meat freezers, if building conditions allow including electrical work being completed. 5. Perform quick check for power on all equipment. Example – toasters, portable meat freezers, if building conditions allow including electrical work being completed.
